The Project

These forests play a crucial role in supporting endangered and threatened species, including the Southern Cassowary, Mahogany Glider, Red Goshawk, Northern Quoll, and Eastern Curlew.

Our most recent endeavor is taking place at Monash Street, El Arish, where we are actively creating habitat for the critically endangered Spectacled Flying Fox. On 3 acres of public land, we are reforesting to establish roosting sites, a sustainable food source, and refuge vegetation. This site, adjacent to an established roosting and transit area for the Spectacled Flying Fox, contributes significantly to biodiversity in this priority hotspot.

For the rehabilitation of Monash Street, El Arish, we are employing 9,000 native trees tailored to meet the dietary needs of the Spectacled Flying Fox and other endangered species. To raise awareness and foster education about the habits and stigmas associated with the Spectacled Flying Fox, we will organize Community Events and Field Days. Planting sessions will be scheduled between these community gatherings to efficiently and swiftly fill the site.

Furthermore, we are actively growing trees at our community nursery, preparing for several ongoing projects across our shire. Your support is crucial in creating a greener, cleaner world together. Together, we are building forests for the future.
