Smarty Forest – Monthly planting 

The project entails the planting of 100 trees initially and a certain amount depending on the client needs, based on the number of refurbished phones sold on a monthly basis. The estimated Co2 offsetting power is conservatively 150 to 380 KGs/tree.

This number of trees/month is arbitrary and required to start the partnership with Evertreen.com and this will be adjusted up or down on a monthly or quarterly basis, depending on the client’s requests. The client is entitled to cancel this planting plan at any time without incurring any penalty.

The project aims at protecting and restoring forests on a massive scale by involving local farmers and creating livelihoods for people living in extreme poverty by offering them the dignity of employment and the possibility to become transformational agents of global forest restoration.

The plantation includes Dry Deciduous trees, Agroforestry trees, Forestry trees, Terrestrial trees, Afromontane trees, Mangroves, Pines.

The management of the work, the procurement of resources and materials as well as the survival of the trees over time will be carried out by Evertreen’s planting partners Eden Reforestation Project and ForTrees Club.
